Maxima Maytag Washer Door Locked

After plugging the washer in one of the following 3 events will happen.

Maxima maytag washer door locked.

Replace the door lock switch if defective. Unplugging for hours did nothing read more. If the washer was powered on before being connected to water the door may be locked and it may go into a drain mode. The door may immediately unlock.

Door lock motor and switch assembly the door lock secures the washer door shut during operation. If the door lock is defective the washer door will not latch properly. Once the washer door is closed the washer can begin operating. Clear any debris out of the door lock assembly.

Reconnect power to washer plug in. Unplug the washer and check the door lock assembly for damage or a loose wiring connection. I have a maytag maxima front loader and it is doing exactly what the thread above is saying. The door can t lock.

Run a drain and spin cycle. If the washer will not unlock at the end of a wash cycle unplug the washer or disconnect power. If not call for service. You may also see an f8 e1 error code.

Plug the appliance into a grounded 3 pronged outlet per the installation instructions. If the washer has an f8 e1 error or lo fl error the door will be locked and the control will be unresponsive. Wait approximately 2 minutes for control to reset.
